Hoping to return to London soon, noting "I have been disgracefully idle here;" reporting on Miss Siddal's health and mentioning that she and Miss Howitt will soon be in London as well. Stating "that Ruskin business seems a wretched affair," and noting that he wrote to Ruskin "but of course avoided that except a mere allusion." Mentioning that "Lizzy is a sweet companion, but the fear which the constant sight of her varying state suggests is much less pleasant to live with." With a postscript concerning Calder Campbell's attempts to call on Allingham in London.
