Earl Waltheoff or the last of the Saxons - a tragedy in 5 acts, 1808.

Autograph manuscript, corrected and annotated, of a tragedy set in England, year 1074, concerning the conspiracy between the Saxon Waltheof, (the Earl of Huntingdon and Northampton, d. 1076), and the Normans Roger de Breteuil (Earl of Hereford) and Richard de Guader (Earl of Norfolk) against King William I the Conqueror. The preface explains the historical context of the tragedy and cites Hume's "History of England." Waltheoff confesses to the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the conspiracy is thwarted.
