[Travel diary], [1815 or later].

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a diary chronicling a tour of the Netherlands and France. The author pays particular attention to the interior decoration of the buildings she visits, commenting on the elegance or dirtiness of the hotels and inns in which she stays; admiring the furniture and decorations in the Palace of Lachen; and describing in detail the beds, drapes, china, and wallpaper of a royal house near Delft. In France, she admires Napoleon's quarters and provides a review of an opera she attends in Paris, including commentary on the dress and fashions of members of the audience. Throughout, she also records social dinners, visits, and outings with acquaintances. At the end of the manuscript is a list of inns at which she stayed, along with her opinions of them; and a list of dates on which she wrote to her mother.
