Manuscript on paper, in multiple hands, containing moral aphorisms in Latin, arranged alphabetically and occasionally translated into English. Under F, for example, appear aphorisms on fear, foolishness, and forgetfulness; other topics include love, avarice, and pride, and include excerpts from Ovid, Seneca, and Lipsius. This alphabetical arrangement is followed by a collection of excerpts from Erasmus' writings and a section titled Roman Antiquities which consists of English translations of short Latin phrases, including "Hee deserveth a cudgelling" and "To stand to the verdict of the court."
