The proceedings against Richard Weston at his arraignement at Guildhall the 19th of November 1615, [ca. 1650].

Manuscript on paper, in a single secretary hand, of a relation of the trial of Richard Weston and others for the murder by poisoning of Sir Thomas Overbury. The manuscript records testimonies by and examinations of Overbury's servants, Weston's son William, Gervase Elwes, the Lieutenant of the Tower where Weston was imprisoned, and Weston himself. The manuscript also describes the arraignment of Ann Turner for "comforting, ayding, and assisting the said Weston in the poisoning to death of the said Sr. Tho. Overburie," followed by copies of indemnifying letters from Frances Howard, Countess of Somerset, and proceedings against Gervase Elwes, James Franklin, and Thomas Monson for assisting Weston in the murder. The text concludes with the arraignment of the Lady and Lord of Somerset and their pardons by King James I. The text also appears in "A true and historical relation of the poysoning of Sir Thomas Overbury," London, 1651.
