Memoranda books, 1755-1758.

Five holograph notebooks containing notes and daily calendars for 1755-1758, including itineraries, lists of dinner guests, notes on various topics taken from reading, conversations and sermons, and garden descriptions. One notebook is titled "Tour of Scotland, 1758" and contains detailed descriptions of sights seen and travel arrangements. Accompanied by a notebook in another hand containing notes on a tour from Verona to Rome.
