The Yale College Internship Program began in 1975 under the directorship of A. Tappan Wilder. The program, which ran in conjunction with Yale Summer Term, placed 25 undergraduates a year in government, business, and media internships during fall or spring term. In 1979 the Yale Summer Program ended, raising questions about the future of the internship program. Robert Alan Dahl was born in Inwood, Iowa on December 17, 1915. He received an A.B. degree from the University of Washington in 1936, and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1940.
