Petition : Mexico City, to Honorable John Young, Governor of the State of New York, 1847 Oct 29.

Manuscript petition signed by Lieutenants Addison Farnsworth and J. Griffin on behalf of the members of Company H of the 1st New York Infantry Regiment, requesting that the Governor review the actions of a Colonel Burnett who illegally promoted a lieutenant and appointed him Captain of their company. Verso contains the note, "Application from members of Company H of the first Regiment Rec'd Febry 17, 1848."
