ALS in which Viets describes his military life as a dragoon stationed at Fort Gibson, including his pay and clothing, the good climate and farming conditions of the Fort Gibson area, and news of mutual acquaintances. Viets mentions the dragoons's manuevers in "six Indian nations" and the Rocky Mountains, and the "fur Company" currently at the Fort. The letter is bound with a typescript copy.
