Dr. Emily Farnham (nee Farnum), born and raised in Kent, Ohio, was a painter and art historian recognized for her research on artists Charles Demuth and Hans Hofmann. Farnham studied at the Cleveland School of Art, received an undergraduate degree in education at Kent State University, and held both a M.A. in watercolor painting and a Ph.D. in the history of art from Ohio State University.
