Letter from Governor William C. C. Claiborne to Thomas Villaneuva, [January 29, 1804?].

Claiborne writes to Thomas Villaneuva, Commandant of Lafourche Parish, about offenses committed by drunken Indians in Villaneuva's district, and commands Villaneuva to send the Indians to him for a lecture. Also discusses the conduct of Michael Bourgois, commanding a fine and imprisonment if he does not "give security for his future good behavior." Possibly written only five weeks after the Americans took control of Louisiana.
