Letter: to His Excellency, George N. Briggs, Governor of Massachusetts /by a Committe in behalf of the Church, 1845 Apr 25.

The letter accompanied a petition which was sent by the Church of Latter-Day Saints to all the state governors, except those of Missouri and Illinois, and the President of the United States. The petition, dated April 24, 1845, and drafted by John Taylor, was an appeal for help and protection and recounted past injustices and persecutions of the Mormons.
