Trowel, Fraternal [realia]. 1923

Trowel has a sterling-silver blade, a handle of fossil ivory, and a ferrule of gold nugget. A sterling-silver chain is attached to a sterling-silver plate. Engraved on the trowel is: "Presented to Brother Warren G. Harding by Ketchikan Lodge No. 159 F. and A. M. at the laying of the Corner Stone of the Masonic Temple Ketchikan Alaska July 8 A.D. 1923." On the reverse side there are two squares and compasses, the letter G and a five-pointed star. Engraved on the silver plate is: "Trowel used by Vice President Dawes May 30, 1926 at Corner Stone laying of the Memorial erected to Warren Gamaliel Harding and Florence Kling Harding Marion Ohio."
