Southern Illinois collection, 1852-2010.

The collection consists of materials relating to the history and culture of Southern Illinois compiled by the Special Collections Research Center, and includes Alexander, Bond, Clinton, Crawford, Edwards, Effingham, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Randolph, Richland, Saline, St. Clair, Vermilion, Wabasn, Washington, Wayne, White, Williamson, and Union counties. The collection includes newspaper clippings, reports, local histories, promotional material, and other printed material. The collection documents such things as local town histories, agriculture, the Trail of Tears, Paul Simon, community development and various natural disasters.
