Truman Smith correspondence, 1842-1883.

Correspondence, most of which is signed by Truman Smith, a Roxbury, Connecticut native who served in the Connecticut House of Representatives, the United States House of Representatives, and as a United States Senator. He was also a lawyer and practiced in New York City following his time in Washington. He was living in Stamford, Connecticut when he died in 1884.
