Papers Concerning Agnes Mongan: A Guide 1990-1996

The collection contains Robert Sennett's correspondence regarding the publication of his biography on Agnes Mongan. To date, this biography has not been published. The collection includes correspondence with various publishers, Mongan's office, and Agnes Mongan. It also includes eight (8) microcassettes of Sennett's interviews with Agnes Mongan. There is biographical information written by Sennett regarding Mongan, notes from his intervies, and a black and white photograph of Mongan. Additional materials include a press release, various programs, and cataloging information from Harvard's cataloging system, HOLLIS.

Robert Sennett is a Bibliographic Assistant in the Fine Arts Library at Harvard University. Agnes Mongan (1905-1996) was born in Somerville, Massachusetts. She was a curator at the Fogg Art Musem, and was the first woman director of a major art museum in the United States.
