Safaa Fathy video recordings of Jacques Derrida lectures, 2000-2004.

This collection comprises video recordings made by Safaa Fathy to document selected public lectures and other activities of the French philosopher and critical theorist Jacques Derrida between 2000 and 2004. Events include public lectures, panel discussions, conferences, and ceremonies. Some events contain recordings of additional participants, including theorists such as Jürgen Habermas, Hélène Cixous, and Axel Honneth. Most recordings include Derrida's responses to questions from the audience following the event. In some cases the recordings are supplemented by printed ephemera documenting the event. Researchers should note that Fathy often recorded more than one lecture on a single tape or DVD. If a tape ended in the middle of a lecture, she continued recording on the next tape or DVD.
