Accessions include: the Balch Family papers, consisting mostly of correspondence between Captain Benjamin Balch, Jr., a ship captain in Salem, MA, to his wife Caroline, along with diaries and a miniature "Hieroglyphick Bible" (94019); diary of J. Warren Chadwick of West Boxford, MA, a farmer, who kept meticulous records of his daily chores and expenses (94020); albumen cabinet photographs from the 1880s, five of which are interior shots the Cabot-Endicott-Low House on Essex Street in Salem, MA, taken when the Endicott family owned the house (94033); and papers of Moses Alpers, a Salem, MA art collector, which include correspondence, inventories, appraisals, slides, and photographs of 18th and 19th century paintings, porcelain and furniture (94038).
