William Augustus Jones collection, 1861, 1909, and undated.

The William Augustus Jones Collection includes obituaries, biographical and genealogical research, as well as transcripts of letters. Biographical material about Jones and genealogical research denote both various events of his life and the history of his family's establishment in Holly Springs describing his service during the war, marriage, and the success of his hardware business in postwar years. Included in the collection are transcripts of letters written by Jones to his mother, Martha Reese Jones (d. 1912), and his sister, Elizabeth Reese Jones (1841-1917), describing camp conditions such as drilling times and mess companions, as well as various troop movements nearby. Two photocopies of letters, addressed to Ann Finley Crall (b. 1871) and Elizabeth Reese Jones (b. 1885), are also in the collection.
