Indiana autograph collection 1832-1926.

The collection consists of papers from 1832-1926, though the bulk of the materials cover 1870-1900. The greater part of this collection consists of correspondence and signed documents, and is mainly important as a collection of autographs. For the most part, the autographs come from Indiana politicians involved at the State and National level of government. Some of the prominent Indianans include: Albert J. Beveridge, William H. English, Oliver P. Morton, James A. Mount, George W. Julian, Daniel Pratt, Thomas Taggart, Daniel W. Voorhees, Henry Smith Lane, and Joseph Wright. The major exceptions within this collection are letters from John Heyl Vincent (1832-1920) an American educator, and Henry Vincent (1813-1878), a British lecturer, of whom were neither born nor lived in Indiana. The letters are organized in alphabetical order by the name of sender and then by date. The final folder, titled Miscellaneous, contains pages that have multiple names on them, is arranged chronologically.
