Collection of memoirs, ca. 1985, 1997-2008, with transcribed letters and biographical information of several generations of the McKinsey and related families. D.L. McKinsey compiled and privately printed 10 copies of these volumes as a record for family members. This collection includes both the rough drafts and the completed published volumes. The largest work documents the lives of McKinsey's wife and her mother: "Mom's Memoirs: The Lives of Eleanor Powell McKinsey and Her Mother Daisy B. McNinch Powell as Told in Their Letters and Other Papers" (9 volumes, compiled 1997-2006). D.L. McKinsey discusses events during his own life in, "An Ordinary Life: Scribblings from my Lifetime" (7 volumes, compiled 2004-2008), re family, his career, and extensive travels in Europe, Asia, and North America; quotes from the McKinsey children appear in "Mom's Collections of Early Conversations with her 'Such Four Fine Children,' 1952-1971" (1 volume, completed 2008). Two essays, "What I Did on Summer Vacation" (1 volume, 1985 and 2003) written by Malcolm McKinsey, son of D.L. McKinsey, Sr., include extensive images of landmarks in European cities.
