Ben Taylor was a first baseman in the Negro Leagues. Taylor's career as a player and manager spanned 27 years. Ben died in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 64 and was buried in an unmarked grave at the Arbutus Memorial Park in Baltimore. Todd Bolton, donor of this collection, formed the Ben Taylor Memorial Committee and raised money to purchase a grave marker. Among those involved were Leon Day, Monte Irvin and Willie Owens. Bill Owens, the last surviving teammate of Ben's, was at the dedication ceremony in April 1992. Includes a DVD of dedication ceromony, death certificate, internment records, postcard, commemorative program. Memorial pamphlet used for biographical information.

Monte Irvin played for the Newark Eagles (1939-1942, 1946-1948) of the Negro Leagues, the New York Giants (1949-1955), the Chicago Cubs (1956), and in the Mexican League (1943). After his playing career, Irvin worked in the Commissioner's Office. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973. Harry Wiley worked for Ashland Oil of Ashland, Kentucky.
