In a letter, 1892 Dec 6., to S. S. McClure, Finley requests a copy of "The Century Dictionary" at a reduced price. Attached is a photo of President Finley clipped from a periodical. In a letter, [?] May 12, to John Phillips, Finley writes to excuse his brother from an appointment due to illness. On 1920 Jan 27 he writes to Byron J. Rees mentioning regret that he could not send the requested paragraph, and agreeing to a proposed word change, and expressing thanks for a copy of "Nineteenth Century Letters." In a letter, [?] Jan 11, to [Will Owen?] Jones he refers to a discrepancy between recently quoted numbers in recent articles and expresses interest in receiving additional articles from him. In a letter, [?] June 10, to Jones, he acknowledgeshis stature as a newspaper man. In a letter, 1922 June 17, to Jones he adds that he has subscribed to "The Nebraska State Journal" and hopes for more articles from him in the future for "The Times." A note,1939 Nov 7, to Mr. A. J. Hanna acknowledgesreceipt of Hanna's "trail-blazing" book "Flight into oblivion."
