Nourse Family papers contain two volumes of lecture notes on natural philosophy taken in a class given by Joseph Henry, 1842-1843 and a ledger with a Report of the Interstate Commerce Commission, 1888. The collection also contains business correspondence of C. J. Nourse of the Chestnut Hill Iron Ore Company, 1864-1866; cancelled checks, 1868-1872, chiefly of the Chestnut Hill Iron Ore Company; estimates of the West Point Foundry Company, 1848-1861. Of interest is a contract with the U. S. Navy Dept., for the engines of the steam frigate "Merrimack." Family papers also contain the correspondence of Joseph Nourse, register of the Treasury of the U. S. The collection also contains a few papers of U. S. Senator Anthony Morris, including an announcement of his senatorial victory, his will, and an account of his journey from Philadelphia to the falls of Niagara, 1807.
