The collection contains a photograph of the University of Virginia football team, 1920s; a Gitchell Studio photograph of the first year medical class, 1932; photographic prints of the University of Virginia Rotunda and Lawn, n.d.; and a photograph of the Rotunda, n.d. Diplomas and certificates awarded Dr. Payne include University of Virginia Bachelor of Science in Education diploma, 1926; a University of Virginia Doctor of Medicine diploma, 1935; Phi Beta Pi initiation certificate, 1931; license to practice medicine, 1935; Selective Service Certificate of Merit, ca. 1945-1952; a certificate of appreciation from King's Daughters Hospital, Staunton, Va., 1951; life membership in the Southern Medical Association, 1959; and a Virginia Academy of General Practice charter certificate with life membership seal awarded to Payne, 1970. There is also a printed copy of the Hippocratic oath; a lithographic copy of the Rotary Code of Ethics and a photostatic copy of the Staunton, Va,. Rotary Club's membership certificate in the Internatonal Association of Rotary Clubs given to Payne as 1940-1941 president.
