Letter to Henry Colburn [manuscript], 1822 February 12.

The collection contains a letter from Washington Irving to Henry Colburn. The book to which Irving refers is Dominique-Dufour Pradt's "Europe and America in 1821." The translation was done by J. D. Williams and published in London in 2 vols. in 1822. The publisher, however, was not Henry Colburn, to whom Irving's letter is addressed, but G. Cowie & Co.

Washington Irving (b. April 3, 1783, New York City-d.
