Lee writes to John Nicholson concerning some cash owed, 1898 November 15. Hamilton writes to Virginia governonr Henry Lee to announce a balance of $100, 879 against the state of Virginia. John Randolph writes to Henry Middleton Rutledge bout his current depressed state of mind, 1817 August 2. Henry Clay writes to Thomas B. Stevenson, 1849 June 30, mentioning Thomas Hart Benton, the possibility of another presidential race, President Taylor, the recent election, the current administration and Whig politcs. The collection also contains an engraving of John Randolph of Roanoke and a copy of his bookplate.

Henry Clay Sr. (April 12, 1777 – June 29, 1852) was an American attorney and statesman who represented Kentucky in both the Senate and House.
