Papers of Ann Beattie [manuscript], 1970-1978.

The collection contains drafts of Beattie's novels "Chilly scenes of winter," "Falling in place," and "The floating bridge," and of many of her short stories. There are three reviews and an article by her, and an article by James Donald O'Hara. Also include correspondence, 1974-1979, with her agent, editors, friends, and readers; photographs of her; posters for her lectures; some miscellaneous material from the Department of English, University of Connecticut; some financial and legal material regarding her publications; and a cassette tape, ca. 1970, of her interview with Joyce Carol Oates.
