Nathaniel Henry Felt Patent, 1866.

British patent granted February 8, 1866, to Nathaniel Henry Felt of Salem (Mass.) for an improved technique in the manufacture of stiffening agents for the heels of boots and shoes. Attached to the patent is a five pound yellow wax seal depicting Queen Victoria, housed in the original maroon tin box.
