H. Rider Haggard letters, 1886-1915.

The collection contains four letters. Haggard writes to Mr. [James] Payn, editor of Cornhill magazine, 25 Oct., no year given [1886], thanking him for his praise of King Solomon's mines and agreeing to contribute to the magazine; to Dear Sir, 17 Oct. 1891, saying that he has already sent his "New Year's greeting to the women of America" through The ladies' home journal; to Lord Bristol, 13 Sept. 1906, recommending Dr. Bright, a clergyman; to My Dear [Lord] d'Abernon, 20 Dec. 1915, about the British Colonial Institute offer to Haggard to travel to Australia to inquire about land settlements for servicemen after World War I.
