Clausen, Arthur Johnson Eames, Lowell Fitz Randolph, Lewis Knudson, Walter C. Muenscher, Loren C. Petry, and Lester W. Sharp (including a parody of a scientific article); photographs; and syllabi from a History of Botany seminar given by members of the Department from 1916 to 1947.

Liberty Hyde Bailey was instrumental in separating Horticulture from Botany and establishing it as a distinct scientific pursuit. Born on a farm in Michigan in 1858, Liberty Hyde Bailey graduated from the Michigan Agricultural College with a degree in botany.
