Henry H. Rathbun was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico and graduated from Purdue University in 1913. In 1914 he came to New York State and purchased a farm in Oriskany Falls, Oneida County. He was a leader in the dairy industry, pioneering in the development of the Dairymen's League Cooperative Association, of which he served as president from 1945 until his death in 1948.
