Correspondence concerns some of Cret's many professional collaborations with Laird. Correspondence contains items concerning the following projects: the University of Wisconsin, Work No. 29; the University of Cincinnati, Work No. 78; Springfield Hospital, Work No. 95; and the University of Pennsylvania Comprehensive Plan, Work No. 96. Correspondence also contains items concerning the following competitions: Minneapolis Museum (Cret advisor then juror), Hamilton County Court House (Laird advisor, Cret juror), New Castle County-Wilmington Public Buildings (Laird advisor, Cret juror), Virginia War Memorial (Laird advisor, Cret competitor and winner, Work No. 165), and Young Women's Christian Association, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (Laird advisor, Cret juror). Laird sent Cret copies of correspondence with Charles Willam Dabney and George Dwight Pratt. Cret sent Laird a jury report signed by himself, Thomas W. Kellogg, and Charles Z. Klauder.

Charles Zeller Klauder was born in Philadelphia in 1872. In 1887 he began working for the Philadelphia architect T.P. Chandler, and by 1891 he had won the silver medal of the Philadelphia T-Square Club. He worked for various firms such as Wilson Brothers, Walter Cope, and Horace Trumbauer before settling as the chief draftsman for Frank Miles Day and Brother in 1900.
