San Francisco Negro Historical and Cultural Society collection, 1963-1964.

Collection contains materials pertaining to the Fourth Negro Cultural Festival (1963) celebrating the centennial of the Emancipation Proclamation and other membership matters. Materials from the Festival include a reproductions of the Emancipation Proclamation, a letter soliciting advertising space in the Journal of the Fourth Negro Cultural Festival, advertising insertion orders, flyers, and budgeting records. Other materials include two tickets to the Leidesdorff Fiesta Cruise (August 18, 1963), a playbill and financial documents pertaining to the Society's production of "Swing High Sweet Chariot" (October 24, 1964), and a letter announcing a quarterly board meeting (September 26, 1964).
