The collection consists of three items, a letter and two manuscripts, including: letter to W.W. Denslow, 5 Oct. 1904, thanking him for a clipping, saying he would be glad to receive some books, with a few further instructions; typed manuscript, undated, containing a biographical sketch of the narrator's early years; mimeographed manuscript, with handwritten corrections, with the title Animals that Ate One Another, or, How Budlets got his Menagerie, undated, a humorous fable.

W.W. Denslow was born May 5, 1856, In Philadelphia, PA, and died March 29, 1915. He married Annie McCartney in 1882, divorced her, and married Ann Waters Holden in 1896. After divorcing her he married Frances Golsen Doolittle in 1903. He studied at the Cooper Union Institute and the National Academy of Design, both in New York City.
