Reunion booklet (1979) and newspaper clippings of the Rashid Family Club of America, for a reunion of the Rashid family. Included are letters from President Jimmy Carter and entertainer Danny Thomas. The Rashids are a Lebanese American family, five members of which came to the United States in 1896. They settled in Detroit, Iowa, and Illinois.

Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.), thirty-ninth president of the United States, was born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia, and grew up in the nearby community of Archery. His father, James Earl Carter, Sr., was a farmer and businessman; his mother, Lillian Gordy, a registered nurse.
