Burl Ives papers, 1931-1978.

Papers of Burl Ives, 1909-1995, the prominent American actor, writer, and musician. Originally from Jasper County Illinois, Ives became famous for his folk ballads in the 1940s and went on to win an Acadamy Award for his film acting in the 1950s. He acted in Broadway, television, radio, and film, and he recorded over 100 music albums. The collection includes song lyrics, manuscripts, and galleys; business and personal correspondence; clippings; business and financial records; programs; scrapbooks; photographs; tape, album, master recordings, and molds; and numerous articles of clothing and artifacts, including costumes from some of his films.
