Born 3 April 1943 in San Angelo, Texas, Tom Meador grew up on a ranch in Schleicher County. He had a passion for various types and kinds of research which is reflected in his collection. He was active in the Texas Speleological Association and the Southwest Region of the National Speleological Association. He died 20 September 1986 at the age of 43. The large collection covers a variety of topics and materials. This includes periodicals, monographs, maps, research material on outlaws and lawmen, photographs, and genealogical materials.
