The Jim E. Riviere papers contain research notebooks from experiments with the IPPSF, isolated perfused porcine skin flap, a novel in vitro alternative animal model for studies in cutaneous toxicology, dermatology, physiology, oncology, percutaneous drug absorption, and metabolism. Included as well are research notes from different projects and experiments involving pharmacology and toxicology, grant reports and study reports pertaining to Riviere's work with pharmacology and toxicology for North Carolina State University, the United States Department of Defense, the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Agency, and several private corporations. The collection also contains copies of published articles and computer-printed drafts of textbooks and textbook chapters written and co-written by Jim E. Riviere and his wife and co-researcher, Nancy A. Monteiro-Riviere.
