The Bureau of Personnel was created in 1929 (Chapter 465) to assume the duties of the State Civil Service Commission (see WIHV87-A1624). Independent until 1959, in that year Chapter 228 placed the Bureau within the newly-created Department of Administration (see WIHV85-A694).
