The first three leaves of the diary describe the character of the late Hester Lynch Piozzi, who died 1821 May 2. This account was published in part in Newton, and in full in Hemlow. The final two leaves describe an encounter circa 1816 with Cécile-Agathe-Adélaide du Mesniel, marquise de Somméry, and her sister, Marie-Anne-Antoinette du Bouchet, vicomtesse de Sourches. The conversation is recorded in French.
