John Keats was an English poet and literary critic. John Keats, English poet, was born in London, England, on 29 or 31 Oct. 1795. He died of tuberculosis in Italy on 23 Feb. 1821. In 1810, Keats was articled to a surgeon, T. Hammond, in Edmonton for five years. The contract was broken in 1814 or 1815. Lowes was an American scholar of English literature, especially the poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. At the time of these letters he was professor at Harvard University.
