Papers of the Mayor's Emergency Committee (Louisville, Ky.), 24 January 1937 and 26 January 1937.

Papers include Emergency Relief Bulletin, no. 1 issued on January 26, 1937 by the Mayor's Emergency Committee at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in response to the 1937 flood. The bulletin notes the organization and staff members involved with flood relief services in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville. Services included a medical department, housing and transportation department, and a welfare department. Relief activities took place at the seminary, Barrett Junior High School, and elsewhere throughout the neighborhood. Also included is a January 24, 1937 emergency gas permit authorizing gas stations to sell gasoline to Sam Watts as part of the flood relief effort.
