Belknap Collection, Popular Performers 1952- : Elvis Presley. 1977-1978.

The bulk of the Elvis Presley collection is made up of magazine articles and published tributes to Elvis within a year after his death in 1977 as well as advertisements for the inevitable music collections, glossy pictorial publications, posters and celebrity reminiscences. There is also a folder of sheet music from the 1950s and 1960s and a miscellaneous folder which has gift shop catalogues and travel brocures for Graceland, Tupelo, Miss. and Memphis, Tenn.; TV Guide magazine covers with Elvis, one of which is a holographic image showing the infamous "Elvis pelvis"; a voting ballot to choose the design for the US Postage stamp commemorating Elvis; a fact book about his private jet, "The Lisa Marie"; an advertising circular for a sample issue of "Elvis International Forum"; and a brocure for a freelance Elvis impersonator.

Sun Records is an American independent record label founded by producer Sam Phillips in Memphis, Tennessee on February 1, 1952. Sun was the first label to record Elvis Presley, Charlie Rich, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash.
