Thomas Bewick letter and exhibition catalogue, 1818-1966.

The collection consists of two items, including: letter to Gentlemen, Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, & Brown, London Booksellers, 10 June 1818, detailing the books he sent by way of two ships; also, catalogue of an exhibition of Bewick's work, with biographical details and descriptions of the works in the exhibit. Catalogue by James Ford Smith, on behalf of the Hexham Abbey Festival and the Arts Council of Great Britain. The exhibition schedule ran from 1965-1966.
