Caroline Whittlesey friendship book, 1825-1831.

Mostly poetry and some prose written by fellow students at Pittsfield Seminary and also by friends of Salisbury, Connecticut, probably on the graduation and then marriage of Caroline Whittlesey, who married George Houghton Fish in 1831. They settled in Saratoga, New York, where he as a druggist. The entries in the volume include poems by Lydia Sigourney.

Lydia Huntley Sigourney (born September 1, 1791, Norwich, Connecticut–died June 10, 1865, Hartford, Connecticut), poet, also known as the “Sweet Singer of Hartford", was the only daughter of a gardener.
