Manuscript addressed to the Loyal National League of New York, dated 1863 Oct. 31, and signed by Agenor de Gasparin, Edouard Laboulaye, Henry Martin, and Augustin Cochin, expressing support for the American government and the Union cause during the Civil War. The letter discusses such issues as slavery and European attitudes towards the American civil war. Also includes a subscription list recording the signatures of league members and sums contributed towards the purchase and binding of the manuscript for presentation to the managers of the Metropolitan Fair on behalf of the United States Sanitary Commission.
