Original manuscripts of his published work Camp, Court and Siege and of his apparently unpublished work The True Memoirs of the Emperor Alexander, a translation of the the reminiscences of the Countess Choiseul-Gouffier (1870s?). Hoffman's own memoirs covers his service during the Civil War in Louisiana and the lower Mississippi Valley. The Countess' reminscences, which Hoffman translated, are of Alexander I of Russia.
