Diary, 1834 Apr.-Nov.

Diary kept by Hand while on business as secretary of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (Apr.-Nov. 1834). While staying in Brooklyn, he traveled in Long Island, New York State, and Philadelphia preaching and lecturing to raise money for the Board and conducting other business. He writes about the places and sites visited, persons met, his own prospects, etc. Hand drew maps of some of the smaller villages he visited.
