Papers of Louis I. Jaffe, ca. 1907-1980.

Jaffe's papers consist primarily of correspondence, articles, newsclippings and other printed material and photographs. Much of the material was collected by his wife after his death, including tributes to him and writings and correspondence about him. Other material relates to Jaffe's early life as a student at Trinity College, World War I soldier, European travel, member of the Red Cross Commission to the Balkan States, beginning journalist and civic leader. Personal papers include family correspondence, diaries, date books, and medical, legal and financial documents. In addition there are letters between Alice Jaffe and Lélège Potin, a "French war orphan" and two photograph albums of his family as well as a panoramic photograph of the Second Battery, Traning Camp, Fort Myer, Va. Correspondents include Lenoir Chambers and Alonzo Thomas Dill.
